Teaching

We live in a period of rapid social, economic and ecological transformation. Accepted ideas about the essence and function of the world - the relationship between human and environment, between global North and South or the position of science in society - are called into question. Our teaching focuses on the interface of "Population, Environment, and Development" and seeks to enable students to understand and analyse complex socio-ecological phenomena by using geographical concepts and methods, to reflect and to search for innovative solutions. We place a high priority on the close interlinking of research and teaching.
